Chick was maker of the famed “Dixie Mallard” duck call, and arguably one of the most influential makers of the modern duck call. Major produced the call in Stuttgart, AR where he won the World Championship in 1945. Chick had several ways he marked his calls over the years, but two of the most desirable by collectors are his “Dixie” stamped call. These calls have Daisy Cutter toneboards. No contest ring. No gimmicks.We have given the call a higher reed set along with a wider bore to give it a more demanding presence than the Short Barrel, while still maintaining the ability to get down and dirty on the low end.
